Cevidence is a document delivery system with digital proof of delivery. Every document is issued as a unique, recipient-specific link, and the system automatically records the document’s full journey: from the moment it is sent, through delivery, to the moment the link is actually opened. On completion, a structured proof-of-delivery report is generated, available for viewing, download and retention within the organization.

How does sending documents with proof of delivery work?

The document is sent to the recipient as a unique link, by email or SMS. The link is tied to that specific document and recipient, which is how the system records precisely who opened it, when and from where.

  • Sent. Upload the document to the system and send it to one recipient, or to tens and hundreds of recipients in parallel, by email and SMS.
  • Delivered. The system updates delivery status in real time and retains the time of delivery.
  • Opened. The moment the recipient opens the link, the event is recorded together with the accompanying technical details.

On completion, a proof-of-delivery report is produced consolidating every recorded event, available at any time for viewing, download and retention within the organization’s systems.

What is the legal standing of the delivery record?

This is the first question any legal counsel asks, and the answer here is therefore precise rather than overstated.

The Cevidence record is generated automatically, in real time and contemporaneously with the event itself, directly from server data, without manual entry and without any ability to freely edit its contents after creation. The data is retained under access controls, permissions, logging and security mechanisms, and the system operates on the infrastructure of ComsignTrust, a licensed Certification Authority in Israel.

These are precisely the characteristics to which the law attaches significance when examining an institutional (business) record under Section 36 of the Israeli Evidence Ordinance: a record made in the ordinary course of the organization’s activity, by a method of collection and preparation that attests to its reliability, and through a properly functioning and protected computer output.

Important to note: admissibility is not automatic; the court examines each case on its merits.

The system has been reviewed in a legal opinion commissioned by the Group. That opinion was prepared for the Group alone and does not constitute legal advice to customers; use of the delivery record in legal proceedings requires a case-specific assessment of the relevant circumstances.

Who is Cevidence for?

Any organization that sends documents to clients, employees, suppliers or external parties and needs to track their delivery and viewing. The solution is particularly relevant where:

  • An orderly record of the document’s transmission is required
  • It matters whether the document arrived and was opened
